How Estimates Are Calculated
Estimates are based on current BPUB residential rate schedules for electric, water, and wastewater services. These rates include:
- Customer Service Charges: Fixed monthly charges based on active services and, for water/wastewater, meter size.
- Consumption Charges: Tiered rates applied per kilowatt-hour (kWh) for electricity and per thousand gallons for water and wastewater, designed to encourage conservation.
- Fuel & Purchased Energy Charge (F&PEC): A variable charge on electric bills reflecting the cost of power generation and purchase.
- Resaca Fee: A fixed monthly fee for customers in designated resaca service areas (water).
