Biography

With 30 years of experience in the banking industry, Al Villarreal currently serves as the CEO of IBC Bank-Brownsville, a role he has held since September 2016. In this capacity, he oversees the entire Cameron County market, including branches in Harlingen, Port Isabel, South Padre Island, and Brownsville.

Mr. Villarreal began his career with IBC Bank in 1993 as a commercial bank officer. Prior to joining IBC, he worked for several major financial institutions, including MBank Dallas and Bank One San Antonio. He also shared his expertise as an adjunct instructor of finance at the University of Texas at Brownsville and Texas Southmost College.

Community Service

In keeping with the IBC philosophy of "We Do More," Mr. Villarreal is actively involved in the Brownsville community.

Education

Mr. Villarreal received his Bachelor of Business Administration with honors from the University of Texas at Austin. He is also a graduate of the Southwest Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University.
