Alejandro Najera is a seasoned entrepreneur with a diverse portfolio spanning energy, real estate, and hospitality. Born and raised in Brownsville, he comes from a family that has owned and operated local businesses for 90 years, consistently providing employment opportunities for the city’s residents.
Mr. Najera holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, with a specialization in energy procurement.
He was appointed to the BPUB Board on July 2, 2023.
Professional Experience
- Energy Sector: Founded a company in 2008 dedicated to acquiring energy contracts for clients across Texas. He successfully operated the business for 17 years before selling it.
- Real Estate & Development: Currently active in real estate and construction ventures.
- Hospitality: Recently became part of a restaurant holding company that operates eight locations.
