Biography
Mr. Martinez brings over two decades of experience in engineering and operation management, having worked with companies on both sides of the Brownsville-Matamoros border.
He currently works in the sustainability sector, focusing on:
- Energy resilience
- Waste reduction
- Water and wastewater management
Mr. Martinez holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), earned in 1999. Before joining the utility board, he served on the City of Brownsville’s charter review committee.
He was appointed to the BPUB Board on July 11, 2023.
