Biography
Mayor John F. Cowen, Jr. serves as the City of Brownsville mayor, bringing a focus on economic development and fiscal stewardship to local government. He joined the Brownsville Public Utilities Board as an Ex-Officio Member on May 16, 2023.
Professionally, Mayor Cowen is the President of Cowen Group, LTD, where he has overseen operations and growth initiatives since 2007. He is also a licensed U.S. Customs broker.
Education
Mayor Cowen holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Notre Dame.
